Essential Oils for Upset Stomach

Essential Oils for Upset Stomach

DigestZen is my go-to essential oils for upset Stomach.

But first I have a really beautiful story to tell you that goes along with DigestZen. It is one of the first oils I used regularly at the beginning of my journey toward health. I was having all kinds of health issues around how my body processes food. This one oil made such a difference in my life because it reduced my discomfort while I worked to figure my food allergies and other issues like stress.

So when two children arrived unexpectedly at my house to live with us in foster care DigestZen was one of the first oils I used with them. Every night the same complaint came to my ears, “I can’t sleep. My stomach hurts.” Every. Single. Night. Was it tummy trouble or was it the head or heart that hurt? I did not know a lot about oils then, but I knew DigestZen worked for me even when my problems were a combination of head and digestive system issues.

Every night I started putting a drop of diluted DigestZen in their belly button and they were able to calm down and rest. I did not know why it worked. I just knew it worked every night. Years later, those children are adopted into my family and I am doing research for this article and read this paragraph from Essential Emotions and now I know why it works and continues to work even now when the problem is physical, mental, and emotional.

DigestZen combines powerful oils to support the body and spirit in assimilating new information and events. It increases One’s ability to receive new information, new relationships, and new experiences and be open to new possibilities. This blend aids individuals in digesting life’s many experiences.”

DigestZen is my first line of defense for all kinds of tummy trouble. I keep a DigestZen touch bottle in my purse, by my bed and in my drawer in the kitchen. It is so powerful to alleviate discomfort and keep all the parts of my digestive system functioning as it should.

What oils are in DigestZen?

I love using the book Modern Essentials to look into oils, learn more about how to support systems or find a quick relief for discomfort. I use it all the time. I have also done some research on the doTerra web site and I have linked those articles where I could find them. I hope this list inspires you to do your own research.

The Sniffer for Stuffy Noses

The Sniffer for Stuffy Noses

Breathing is essential for life. I know that is not breaking news, but we do take breathing for granted until we get a stuffy nose. There are tons of reasons for stuffy nose, this protocol will support your sinuses and immune system as your body fights all kinds of environmental threats.

Step 1: Saline wash

This is the first thing I do at the first sign of a runny stuffy nose long before any complications or infections can set in and you have to run to the doctor for an antibiotic. I used to get a sinus infection a few times a year, but supporting my body early and often has kept me healthy, out of the doctor’s office and off antibiotics.

This is a great way to keep your sinuses clear during allergy season or fighting a bug. I do this first so that as I sniff the steam infused with oil in the next step my airways are clear.

Never, Ever, Ever put oils in a saline wash. Just don’t do it. You won’t die, but you will be sorry you did it.

Step 2: Sniff the steam

Get a mug of steaming hot water

Put 1-2 drops of each oil in the water:
Oregano (Do not overdo this one. Start with one drop)

Cup your hands over the steam and bring your nose close to your hands. Release the steam under your cupped hands and inhale the steam. It is strong, guys. It will burn and you will cough, but keep doing that as often as you can over the next few minutes. When you have sniffed all you can sniff you can throw this concoction down the drain. Don’t try to ingest it or reheat and reuse it.

Depending on the issue you are trying to solve you can add these oils too:

I love the Modern Essentials book for looking up the issue I am addressing with oils. I highly recommend it.

Step 3: Repeat throughout the day and add breath, using this tutorial. Be sure to give your immune system a boost with Onguard.

None of this is as easy as popping a pill. The saline wash is weird and uncomfortable. The sniffer is pretty powerful and gets all that mucus running and that is not so fun. But I find that when I support my body and help it fight the environmental threats to stay healthy, I feel better consistently and have to take these measures less and less.
